Every so often, life throws us a challenge that can be difficult to overcome alone. Not knowing where to turn, or who to turn to, can often make the problem worse. However, it is important not to let these feelings or challenges escalate.
Going at it alone can be hard. By talking to someone who will not only listen, but can also help you learn the skills required to overcome things, you can start the journey towards healing in a safe and therapeutic environment.
If you’re facing challenges in life, then talking to one of our experienced counselors is a step towards recovery.
The initial counseling session lasts 60-90 minutes and is a chance for the counselor to get to know the individual, their circumstances, and what they want to achieve.
At the Oregon, IL Braden Counseling Center, we operate on a strength-based model. By understanding a person’s strengths, we can work to build resilience and self-advocacy as well as skill building, increasing self-care and family/community support.
We believe that gaining these skills is the key to overcoming challenges such as:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Chronic Medical Illness
- Bipolar Disorder
- Grief/Loss, Adjustment Disorders

Oregon Counseling for Depression and Oregon Mental Health Counseling
There are many factors during life that can lead to depression or other mental health issues. These are usually characterized by specific symptoms.
If you are suffering from depression, we will work with you to understand the cause and effect of your symptoms, and ensure you receive the most effective method of treatment for your circumstances. Whether it is counseling, or a combination of counseling and medication that is required, we will make sure you receive the best option.
Oregon bipolar disorder treatment and therapy are also available to those that have been diagnosed. Our comprehensive therapy program helps individuals manage and control their bipolar disorder and live a full life.
Substance Abuse Counseling
In 2015, deaths by substance use disorder reached 307,400, and that figure is rising.
At the Braden Counseling Center, we offer a range of methods to help people recover from and help prevent further substance abuse.
To help individuals on their road to recovery, Oregon alcohol counseling is available as well as a Oregon substance abuse counselor.
We have an intensive outpatient treatment program available to help beat addiction and abuse, as well as outpatient counseling services.
We can perform substance abuse evaluations, risk education, and our staff is fully trained to administer NARCAN spray for opioid overdoses.
As well as individual therapy, we also hold group therapy sessions which cover a wide range of topics to help clients understand substance abuse and enable individuals to gain skills to combat addiction with a significant focus on relapse prevention.
Our aim is for our clients to complete our treatment program feeling confident and equipped to leave substance abuse behind them.
Drivers License Reinstatement and DUI Counseling
Occasionally people slip up and make mistakes. Being arrested for a DUI is something we can help with.
The state of Illinois requires a DUI evaluation before closing a case, and the Braden Counseling Center can perform these evaluations for our clients.
If you’ve been arrested for a DUI, we also offer Risk Education courses in our Sycamore office and occasional courses in our Rochelle and Elgin offices. The course helps individuals understand what level of care they require and how to avoid being in a DUI situation again.
If you have had your license revoked or suspended, then the Braden Counseling Center can help you in requesting a court hearing, answer any questions you may have and guide you in the tricky process of getting your license reinstated.
Oregon Domestic Violence Counseling
Abusers abuse for many different reasons. Our domestic violence counseling program is designed to get to the root of the abusive pattern, so we can address it, and start to make long term changes and improvements.
By breaking the patterns that lead to abuse, clients can start to deal with their emotions and feelings calmly and honestly.
We also offer counseling for victims of abuse and aid them in healing and finding safety.
If abuse is not addressed, then it will continue. So, if you think you are an abuser, or a victim of abuse, then it is important to contact us so we can help you.
We make it easy to get in touch by offering:
- Flexible scheduling
- Counseling
- Group counseling
- A free initial consultation
- Verification of insurance benefits
- Cash and credit card payment options
Oregon Trauma Informed Counseling/Therapy
We have staff available who are fully trained in trauma counseling.
Trauma-Informed Counseling (TIC) ensures our clients feel they are empathized with. One of the main aspects of this therapy is that individuals are heard and understood.
During a Oregon trauma-focused therapy session, we approach the situation by asking “What has happened to you?” instead of “What is wrong with you?” and treating clients with respect rather than a burden.
Trauma is a complex issue and implementing a safe, therapeutic environment is vital for recovery.
Coping mechanisms for trauma can manifest in a range of ways, not all of them healthy. We recognize that clients will be trying to find the best way to deal with their trauma and emotions. Oregon trauma-informed counseling and therapy assists by building rapport and allowing us to work closely with our clients to find the best way of healing in their own way.
For example, one of the treatments we offer is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, in Oregon, which is a psychotherapy approach that has proven effective for the treatment of trauma, especially post-traumatic stress syndrome.
Recognizing that counseling or therapy is something you require is the first step to becoming well again.
If you think you need individual counseling services or trauma counseling in Oregon, then please do not hesitate to call us. We at the Braden Counseling Center can start assisting you on your journey to recovery and finding new ways for better days.
